Description:
Fourteen years in the making, the film uses never before seen interviews, archival footage and recently declassified documents to chronicle the past and present of these ordinary citizens and their contributions to revealing the truth about the crime of the 20th century.

Suffering ridicule, and being labeled "conspiracy theorists", these individuals have challenged the institutions of power for over 50 years to, as they often proclaim, “take back our history!’

-----
Director Statement:

"This film isn't about conspiracy theories, or political assassinations, or even necessarily the murder of JFK. The Searchers is a portrait of a group of individuals who have chosen to enter an area of study where they are marginalized and ridiculed for asking difficult questions. Why would anyone choose an area of study where the prospects of being dismissed as "kooks" or "tinfoil hats" is so great? Because, as they often say, "if we don't, who will?"
