David A. Masterwille
David A. Masterwille is a filmmaker from Ghana, on the west coast of Africa. He is both a fiction and a non-fiction filmmaker. His documentary films mainly address social-political and environmental problems arising out of Ghana and Africa.
Some of his documentaries include Gold Is Here (2014). Gold Is Here screened at festivals in Africa, Europe, and America. It won an award for best documentary at a film award in Ghana in 2016; Scapegoats (2017) and Surgeons (2018).
The film is still screening publicly with two screenings booked in August 2018 at Goethe Institutís African Perspective program, and Nubuke Foundationís Ghana Must Go: Forward program as well as a screening at the Danish Ambassadorís residence for embassy staff and the Danish community in Ghana.
He is presently at a pre-production stage of his second narrative feature Obaamu - Uncommon Passage.
