Shani Heckman
Shani Heckman is an activist filmmaker whose films focus on social justice issues, often, through an LGBTQ lens. Prior to filmmaking, she was a grassroots organizer and event producer working with bands, performance artists and poets.

She has her MFA in Cinema Production from San Francisco State University and is on the faculty at the College of Marin and City College San Francisco teaching film production.

Her new film, The House on Lucky Street, is her fifth short film and the third narrative project supported by an Individual Artist Grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission. She is working on raising funds for her feature-length project, Confidential Informant.
