Nancy Margulies created three documentaries in the 1970’s and nothing more until 2018 when she produced, directed and illustrated Lies and Miracles: Childhood in a Siberian Labor Camp.
During the intervening years, she developed a method of recording ideas using words and images. She applied this his process as a facilitator and “graphic recorder” working with President Clinton and his Cabinet, leading strategic thinking sessions for executives in companies such as Apple, Genentech, Kodak, Xerox Business Systems, Weyerhaeuser Paper Company, Hewlett-Packard, and Boeing. Nancy also regularly collaborated with Meg Wheatley, Peter Senge, Fritjof Capra, the Dalai Lama, and Desmond Tutu. She has facilitated workshops in Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey, South Africa, and India.
She is the author of several books, including Mapping Inner Space, two books of short stories, numerous comics, a faux museum catalog, and a solo performance play.
Inspired by her cousin George Landau surviving and thriving after years of exile, she returned to filmmaking to document his journey.
