William González
William González Cali was born in 1957 in Colombia. He studied Social Communication at the Universidad del Valle and Cinematographic Production at the Cinematographic Training Center (CCC) of Mexico. He was assistant director Arturo Ripstein in The Empire of Fortune (1985), The Other (1986) and several commercials of the Mexican filmmaker. In Colombia, he was an assistant director in the Colombian feature film The Snail Strategy (Sergio Cabrera, 1993) and Chapter 66 (Raúl Ruiz and Luis Ospina, 1994).

Director of several short films, he has directed numerous series for Colombian television, among which are Sobrevivir (Colombian Television), La mujer en el espejo (RTI Television), Oye Bonita (Canal Caracol), Infiltrados (Canal Caracol), es la vida (Canal RCN) and the telefilm El absente (Canal Telepacífico). With La Sargento Matacho (2013) he was the winner of the Feature Film Development and Production Awards of the Colombian Cinematographic Development Fund (2008), the IBERMEDIA Co-Production Prize (2010) and several awards of the Guadalajara Construye Festival, 2011, in Mexico.
